Our Story

Worldcraft Industries was founded by Hari and Siri Darshan Khalsa, who bring a unique bicultural perspective to the world of Indian-inspired furniture and décor. Born in the United States and educated in Northern India from childhood, the founders developed deep cultural fluency in Hindi and Punjabi, along with an intimate understanding of India’s rich artistic heritage. This cross-cultural foundation informed early international ventures in NGO work and luxury travel services for discerning clients, eventually evolving into specialized sourcing consultation for Western companies expanding into Asian markets.

In 1997, while based in Delhi, the Khalsas pioneered digital procurement for a major East Coast furniture retailer seeking Indian vendors. At a time when manufacturers relied on mailed photographs and postal correspondence, the Khalsas introduced revolutionary quality control and sourcing systems using digital imagery and email—long before platforms like Alibaba existed. Success required deep networks and cultural knowledge to navigate India’s complex business landscape.

As word spread throughout the retail industry, Worldcraft Industries emerged as a trusted wholesale import-export enterprise. In 2001, the founders relocated to Los Angeles and established Tara Home Sacred Interiors, a serene retail showroom on Venice’s Main Street. The space embodied their commitment to mindful design and spiritual aesthetics. Tara Home quickly resonated with the Los Angeles community, expanding to four Southern California locations and Scottsdale, Arizona. The inviting atmosphere attracted a diverse clientele including yoga practitioners, artists, celebrities, and Hollywood production studios.

Industry Recognition

Worldcraft’s distinctive furniture and décor have been commissioned for prestigious entertainment industry events, including backstage installations for the Academy Awards and Emmy Awards. Our pieces have appeared in acclaimed productions including Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, Weeds, The L Word, The Dirt, Arrow, Preacher, and The Good Life. We have also had the privilege of designing, sourcing, and installing custom furniture installations for notable clients including Adrien Brody, Joely Fisher, Russell Simmons, Steven Tyler, Jeremy Piven, and Sharon Stone.
