ABOUT US

The founders of Worldcraft Industries, Hari & Siri Darshan Khalsa, were born in the USA and attended boarding school in Northern India from the age of 8. They grew up in India and are fluent in Hindi and Punjabi, with an intimate awareness and understanding of the complex culture of India. This upbringing led to assorted international business ventures, NGO work, and a high end travel and tour business that included Tim Burton and Richard Gere, evolving into sourcing tours for many Western industries beginning to outsource from Asia.

In 1997, while living in Delhi, an East Cost Furniture chain interested in purchasing from vendors in India, engaged the Khalsa’s to manage their quality control and procurement using digital images and email. This was revolutionary at the time as manufacturers were still mailing photographs to customers and waiting for post mail responses. The internet was young, and new to Asia. This was before large companies like Alibaba, and it required knowing people that knew people to get things done.

Word spread to other retailers and before long, the Khalsa’s had founded a successful wholesale export and import business, Worldcraft Industries. Relocating to Los Angeles in 2001 and drawing on the lifelong spiritual practice, they created the retail space Tara Home Sacred Interiors on Main Street in Venice, CA. The showroom was beautiful, meditative and serene. Tara Home was well received by the Los Angeles community and soon expanded to four locations in LA, as well as Scottsdale, Arizona. With an atmosphere that was inviting and unique, they attracted a broad spectrum of customers from yoga students, to artists, celebrities and Hollywood Studios.

Their team was approached for a variety of custom projects. They were commissioned to decorate the backstage set for the Academy Awards and the Emmys. Their pieces are featured in many shows and movies, such as Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, Weeds, L Word, The Dirt, The Arrow, Preacher and The Good Life. They have also decorated, produced and installed beautiful pieces in the homes of a host of well known celebrities including Adrien Brody, Joely Fisher, Russell Simmons, Steven Tyler, Jeremy Piven and Sharon Stone.
